Located on the second floor of Ames Building, the Conservation Department:

• Works to protect Dedham’s natural resources.

• Provides guidance about environmental regulations, wetland resources, and stormwater management.

• Administers the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act and Town of Dedham Wetlands and Stormwater bylaws.

Board and Committee Work

The Conservation Department works as staff for the Conservation Commission to enforce the local and state wetland protection and stormwater management rules.

When to Contact us

Before you plan alterations to a property in Dedham that would increase impervious square footage (ie. new construction, additions, driveways, etc.) or if you are potentially doing work within proximity of a wetland resource area, you should always check with us to ensure that you do not have any additional stormwater or wetlands requirements or limitations.
