Please review the following calendar for important dates and deadlines for the February 8, 2025 Special Election:
- Special Town Election: Saturday, February 8, 2025 - Polls open 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM
Nomination Papers
- Papers will be available starting Friday, November 22, 2024.
- Nomination papers may be picked up at the Town Clerk’s Office (2nd Floor at Town Hall) ONLY by a candidate OR a person who has the written authorization from the candidate (Chapter 53, Section 17 G.L.)
Signatures Required
- Major Office: Signatures from 50 registered voters throughout the Town
Important Dates
- Tuesday, December 17, 2024: Last day to pick up nomination papers
- Friday, December 20, 2024: Last day to submitting nomination papers to Board of Registrars for certification of signatures (No later than 5:00 PM)
- Monday January 6, 2025: Last day to withdraw nomination papers, no later than 5:00 PM
- Drawing for position on the ballot at 6:00 PM
- Wednesday January 29, 2025: Last day to register to vote in the Special Election (Office hours 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM)
Voter Registration
Voter registration takes place daily at the Town Clerk's Office, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (and until 7:00 PM on Wednesdays).
Campaign Finance Reports
Campaign Finance Reports for major office seekers must be filed on/or before the following dates for activities as outlined:
- On or Before Friday, January 31, 2025: For activity from January 1, 2025 to January 21, 2025
- On or Before March 10, 2025: Final report for activity from January 22, 2025 to February 28, 202
