Kenpo Karate Martial Arts Assistant Instructor

The Town of Dedham is seeking a Kenpo Karate Martial Arts assistant instructor. The Martial Arts assistant instructor creates and leads classes for ages 5 & up in the discipline of Kenpo Karate including key areas of the curriculum including Kickboxing, Karate, Judo and Ju-Jitsu. All applicants must be enthusiastic, comfortable leading class activities and have good communication skills.

Duties Performed

  • Create and implement classes for all ages, developmental stages and experience levels.
  • Show up on time and be prepared with a plan and associated materials
  • Maintains communication and effective control with class . Ability to modify plans based on students needs.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patrons & staff
  • Adhere to departmental policies and procedures; performs related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Must possess the knowledge, skill and ability to instruct Kenpo Karate martial arts classes for children ranging in age from 5 and up
  • Must maintain a punctual work schedule.
  • Must possess the ability to perform duties on own
  • Experience in group childcare setting preferred.
  • Teaching and Coaching qualifications recognized by martial arts title certification, Strong positive reinforcement of discipline highly desirable, and/or Black belt with minimum of 5+ years of experience preferred
  • First Aid & CPR Certified
