Parking Hearing Officer Monthly Public Parking Hearing

If you have recently received a parking ticket and would like your appeal to be heard in-person by the Parking Hearing Officer, please come to the next scheduled Parking Hearing at the Public Safety Building Training Room, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 12 noon.

  • The hearings are held on a first come, first served basis.
  • Please be prepared to provide the following information:
    • Explanation you believe the ticket was issued in error
    • Documentation of evidence the violation was issued in error
  • Note: Failure to appear before the Parking Hearing Officer on the scheduled date and time will result in a denial of your appeal and associated late fees will be added to the violation.

How to Appeal a Parking Ticket

Reminder: The Parking Enforcement Office is not always staffed. Please review the steps and instructions below to appeal your parking ticket: 

  • By Mail: To appeal a Parking Ticket by mail please send a letter along with the violation number and whatever evidence or supporting documentation you would like the Town of Dedham’s Parking Hearings officer to consider to:

  • By Email: To appeal a ticket by E-mail please parking@dedham-ma.gov. Please include the ticket number along with any evidence or supporting documentation that you like the Town of Dedham Parking Hearings officer to consider as to why this ticket should not have been issued.
  • In Person Hearing (new 2024 dates listed below): If you would like your appeal to be heard in person, please come to the next Parking Hearing at the Public Safety Building, 26 Bryant Street, Dedham, MA between 9:00 AM and 12 Noon on one of the following dates:
    • January 17, 2024
    • February 21, 2024
    • March 20, 2024
    • April 17, 2024
    • May 15, 2024
    • June 20, 2024
    • July 17, 2024
    • August 21, 2024
    • September 18, 2024
    • October 16, 2024
    • November 20, 2024
    • December 18, 2024

    Note: The hearings are held on a first come, first served basis.

    Please be prepared to present any evidence or supporting documentation you would like the Parking Hearing Officer to consider as to why the parking ticket was issued in error.

HANDICAPPED PLACARDS

If you were issued a ticket and you are a handicap placard user, please mail or email a copy of the valid placard along with the ticket and or plate number to:

or send by email to parking@dedham-ma.gov

Note: Permanent Placards are renewed by the Registry of Motor Vehicles automatically every 5 years. All other placards are temporary and are issued for a period of 2 to 24 months. You will need to submit a new application and you will need certification from a medical professional. Expired placards are NOT VALID and cannot be used. Processing time varies so be sure to allow at least 30 business days for the registry to process renewals.
